Introducing the Newest Member of Tack N Tails

After months of online searching, numerous trips, I have finally found ''The One''.

Introducing Tawney Lady - my brand spanking new Irish Draught mare. Arghh I'm just so excited!

She's a 16.2 10 year old and bred in Co. Galway. She is by Cream of Diamonds out of a Glenagyle Rebel mare. I was told she bred a foal when she was 4, has hunted and the dealer did mention she was in the RDS but I can't find anything about her (ahhh dealers - always have to take them with a pinch of salt!). She has been out in the field for the past year doing nothing (hence the scruffy look!). So our winter challenge is to get us both fit and out and about in the new year :)

For now we are just going to work on her topline and get her a decent muscley bum, get her teeth and back seen to and make sure she is fully fit and healthy :) I set out with the goal of NOT getting a grey horse as the constant washing irritates me ... but low and behold I came home with a grey mare. She's perfect in every other way so I just had to over look it :)

All going well we'll be joining the riding club in January and hope to get out to a few hunter trials in the new year. I'm considering joining TREC since it looks like it's a fab day out and a great way to meet more horsey people :)

She currently has no stable name and in keeping with the Irish theme I'm thinking of either calling her Cara (Irish for friend, pronounced Car-ra), Liath (Irish for grey, pronounced Leah) or Lady ... hmmm I'll give it a few days to see what suits her.

UPDATE - I've decided to call her Liath as it just seems to suit her :) Three people wanted me to call her Sparkles! hahaha
