This year, instead of making new year's resolutions, which I'm likely to break, I wanted to create some long and short term goals. I've kept these fairly realistic and achievable, I think? They may not be big or overly ambitious but definitely something to work towards.
Liath
- Get some proper dressage lessons!
- Jump a 70cm working hunter course (maybe progressing on to 80cm by the end of summer?)
- Do some mediumweight hunter/Irish draught showing classes
Setanta
- Get out to a few baby shows (dressage and/or jumping)
- Go XC schooling
Harry
Harry is being completely rebroken and schooled after a bit of a traumatic start so the goals are a bit different.
- Get out hacking on his own
- For him to be happy in a group lesson setting
- Canter!
Ozzy
- Another one I want to get dressage lessons on!
- Go XC schooling
- Do another mini ODE?

It may not be big ... but look at that pop! I need to put my brave pants on again and get back jumping |
Ferdia will turn 2 in June so there isn't a lot I can do with him. He's at that really awkward age!
- In hand youngstock classes if he looks mature enough
Blue
Blue is off at the moment with a pulled ligament so I'll just see how he gets on. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!
On a personal level, I would like to get more one-on-one dressage and jumping lessons with the aim of moving up a level in the riding club by the end of the year. Achievable? - yes, hard work? - definitely!
I also want to focus more on my blog and I have a few ideas in the pipeline. I sometimes get writers block and it can be hard to think of new and original content to write about but I seem to be on a bit of a roll lately - long may it last!
I want to try my hand at vlogging (video blogging) this year. I'm actually quite nervous at the thoughts of making it but I really want to push myself out of my comfort zone and branch out a little bit. I really love blogging so it seems like a good next step!
So here's to 2018, may it be a good one!
Best of luck!!
